Adrian Bowyer, senior lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Bath on RepRap, Adrian’s Replicating Rapid-prototyper.
Duncan Speakman is a sound and video artist who works in both live and mediated spaces using contemporary and emergent technologies. His work explores how we use sound to navigate the physical and socio-political spaces we live in, and the impact of audio on our psyche. He was recently artist in residence at the Brewhouse Theatre and visiting lecturer in technology and performance at Dartington College of Arts. He is currently developing site-responsive soundwalks with Hewlett Packard.

The subject of national press interest, the process developed through home-lab experimentation, merging domestic and scientific methodology. Richard Grove explains the chemistry.

24 April, Jo Hyde talk and performace
Jo Hyde uses digital media to make sound and multimedia works, installations and performances. Particular features of his work are the complex interaction of abstract sound and image, and the integration of interactive technology into live performance.

Packet Garden is a digital commission for Arnolfini. A network visualisation project which captures information about how you use the internet and uses it to grow a world complete with topography and vegetation which can be explored and cultivated. Packet Garden launches for Mac and PC on February 1st 2007 at www.packetgarden.com

Polar Produce is a multidisciplinary group who create interactive media and live art experiences, exploring the interface between virtual and real environments. Currently Polar Produce are working with partners including closely BBC, British Telecom and Blast Theory on a mass participatory and pervasive experience, which explores democratic, public engagement in environmental issues.

Thursday 12 October: Dorkbot comes to Bristol Watershed
Building on the monthly research events started at Watershed before the summer,
Dorkbot Bristol kicks off with a drinks party on Thursday 12 October. We hope the first event will be an electric menagerie of some cool Bristol gadgets, installations and art works and a chance to share ideas for future events.
