This month’s meeting of Bristol Dorkbot will be a presentation about CubeSat technology and low cost space hardware by Michael Johnson.
Citizen Space Exploration with Pocket Spacecraft
Michael Johnson, JAInexpensive CubeSats, ChipSats and
Thin-Film Spacecraft/Landers/Rovers coupled
with community fund raising platforms such as
KickStarter are allowing anyone have their
own space exploration program. Michael
Johnson, from JA, the open source open
access space company, will show you how
you can have your own kitchen table space
program and describe how citizen space
exploration is about to move from low earth
orbit proof of concept to interplanetary
missions.

The meeting will be taking place at the Pervasive Media Studio in the Watershed building in Bristol, this Tuesday (18-Sep-2012). We’ll be there from 7pm with the talk starting at 7:30pm.
If you’ve not been to a Bristol Dorkbot meeting before the Watershed can be found in Bristol city centre [google maps]
Once you’ve entered the building you need to go up the stairs and right into the bar. Looking at the bar you’ll see a double door to the left of the bar, go through there and down the corridor, if the doors half way down are locked, use the intercom and say you’re there for Dorkbot. Hopefully we’ll have some signs up on the night.
